New Feature: Major Gifts

This marks the beginning of a new series, in which we’ll announce major gifts made to the College.

From Ken Goebel:

Amount: $7861.12
To: Marjorie P. Hilton Endowed Scholarship
From: Estate of Marjorie P. Hilton ‘44 

Background: This is the final distribution from Marjoie’s estate as directed by her will and managed by the executor, John Nigro. Marjorie was a member of the KSC class of ’44 and she established this scholarship in 1999 working with Dr. Yarosewick. She made an initial gift of $10,000 at that time. This fund will provide financial assistance to juniors and seniors majoring in Early Childhood Development. Sean Gillery has worked closely with Mr. Nigro since we received word of Marjoie’s passing last year.

When added to the previous three recent distributions from Marjorie’s estate, KSC has now received $335,551.12 since her passing. These gifts have all been received in this fiscal year and will now represent one of our larger endowed funds that have been funded by estate gifts and it will guarantee the continuance of Mrs. Hilton’s legacy at KSC.

This represents the second pledge payment from the Savings Bank of Walpole against their initial pledge of $20,000 in support of the TDS Center construction.
