From Diana Duffy:

Keene State’s electrical team (Doug Adler, Tim Garland, Derek Goodrich, Josh Rodgers, Justin Carley, and supervisor Bill Sevigny) is on the move to reduce the College’s energy bills. Their recent work brightens up the campus. Have you noticed?

In February, KSC electricians installed a new solar-powered outdoor light just where it’s needed. The KSC community wanted more light at the base of the Ashuelot River foot bridge. Trouble was, there was no electric service in that unlit location.

Enter solar powered exterior lighting. After identifying a solar flood light that would meet our needs, the electrical team went to work to install this new fixture, from base to bulb. Now, it’s the sun that lights the base of the railroad bridge after dark. This project incorporates sustainable technologies and saves the college from additional electrical load, while boosting the safety of students on foot.
