KSC Among Recipients of Pumpkin Wars Money

Fifteen days before Keene Pumpkin Festival, Discover Card promised $1 per pumpkin to the winner of the “Pumpkin Wars” HGTV show.

Keene won a total of $29,381 to be dedicated to educational purposes only; Let it Shine, the non-profit organizer of the festival, was charged with the responsibility of dispersing them. Keene State received $5,000, which will help to fund community service and service learning activities.

Other beneficiaries included Franklin School, Jonathan Daniels School, Symonds School, Cutler Elementary School, Mt Caesar Elementary School, Marlborough School, Nelson School, Fuller Elementary School, Cheshire Children’s Museum, Keene Montessori School, MoCo Arts, Keene Senior Center, ConVal Scholarship Foundation, Keene High School Interact, and Wheelock School.
