Who Are You and What Do You Do?
- Who are you? Allison Riley
- What do you do? I am the Coordinator of Student and Community Relations – it’s a part-time position that was established in January of 2011.
- _What do you really do?_ My office supports Keene State’s off-campus students. I provide resources and educational programming so students may transition to and live off-campus successfully. I work very closely with City of Keene staff and police, landlords, and permanent Keene residents/neighborhood groups.
- What else do you do? My family has lived in Keene for 8 ½ years. My husband and I have a daughter who is 14 - she is a freshman at Keene High School. And we have a son who is 11 – he is a 6th grader at Keene Middle School. In my free time I run, take yoga classes, read, volunteer in the school system, and spend time with family and friends.
- How long have you been here? I started as a program assistant in Student Affairs in the fall of 2008, but I’ve been in my current position for the last 2 years.
- What’s your favorite Keene State memory? I really enjoyed the time I spent floating around to work in different Student Affairs offices during my first 2 years on campus. Each staff welcomed me and made me feel like I was part of their group even though I was only with them temporarily. I got to know a lot of folks in a short time and got to see the inner workings of many departments. It was a great learning experience and I’ve held on to several personal relationships from that time.
- If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why? I’d like to be able to fly, so that I could see all of the places in the world that I’m curious about.
- If you could trade places with anyone on campus, who would it be and why? I think I would trade with one of the counselors in the Counseling Center. There was a time in my life when I thought I might like to be a therapist and I think it would be interesting to help a student through a significant personal issue.

- What else do you want other faculty and staff to know about you? My office is located on the 2nd floor of Residential Life. The Res. Life staff has graciously provided me with an office space and welcomed me as an adopted member of their staff.
