Jasinski to Speak at the Newport, NH Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony

Jerry Jasinski, an alumnus of Towle High School in Newport, NH and a member of the second Newport High School Athletic Hall of Fame class last year, will be the featured speaker at the third Newport Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony on Saturday, September 29. Dr. Jasinski, currently in his 35th year as a Professor of Chemistry at Keene State College, was inducted in three sports, Football, Basketball, and Track & Field. Prior to his appointment at Keene State, he was a high school chemistry/Physics teacher and coach of football, basketball and track & field for nine years at Middleburgh, NY, Stevens High School of Claremont, NH and Springfield High School, Springfield, VT. He has been a high school referee of all three sports for over 35 years, 42 years in football, and 10 of those years as a college basketball official. He established the Vermont High School Decathlon/Heptathlon Championships and directed it for 35 years. At Keene State he served as an Assistant Coach of Track & Field for 18 years and now devotes most of this professional energy as a teacher and mentor to undergraduate science and research students and as a regional and world known X-ray crystallographer and co-editor of a major international scientific journal.
