Critical Incident Support Team Training Friday and Saturday

From Caroll Lothrop, Critical Incident Support Team:

When the unthinkable happens, do you know what to do?

The Critical Incident Support Team will hold a training to equip you with the emotional support tools necessary to be effective during campus-wide crises. You will learn a nationally recognized protocol for group interventions as well as coping strategies to aid in the after-effects of a traumatic event. These skills will help you in your personal life when traumatic events occur. For those interested in joining, this training will also prepare you for membership on KSC’s Critical Incident Support Team (CIST).

This free training will be held in two parts, Friday, September 21, 1-4 p.m. and Saturday, September 22, noon -5 p.m. Pre-registration for both sessions is required.

Seating is limited, so don’t delay! Refreshments will be provided on Saturday; lunch is not provided. For questions, contact Mona Anderson at manderso@keene.edu.

Trainer: Judith Putzel is a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Dr. Putzel is the former Associate Director of the Counseling Center at Keene State and founder of the KSC Critical Incident Support Team. She is a member of the New Hampshire Disaster Behavioral Health Response Team. She is an ICISF Trained Trainer.

The Critical Incident Support Team is composed of faculty, staff, and students who are trained in providing assistance when a crisis or natural disaster occurs that affects a large group in the KSC community.

Give back to the KSC community AND learn new skills!
