Space Planning Workshops Sept. 14

From the Campus Master Planning Committee:

Greetings,

During this academic year, we will prepare the next ten-year update to the long-range plan for our campus facilities and spaces (Campus Master Plan) as discussed in our August all-campus opening meeting. We encourage your participation in Space Planning Workshops on Friday, September 14.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence the physical and functional shape of Keene State College during this important time of change in higher education.

On September 14, Joe Bilotta of JBA will begin our Master Planning Process by leading faculty and staff in an engaging process of identifying needs and opportunities related to the following categories of space: 1) offices, 2) instructional space, and 3) research space. These “Space Planning Workshops” are more effective when they include participants from across all areas of the campus, and we hope you’ll take advantage of the opportunity. At a later point, Joe will also convene “Program Meetings” that will focus on specific needs of particular departments or units, using concepts and ideas developed through the Space Planning Workshops. Surveys will be another means of gathering input, especially from those unable to attend workshops, but we know that the process will benefit from in-person engagement at these initial sessions.

We ask that you attend one or more of these two-hour workshops based on your interest and availability.

Space Planning Workshop Schedule
Friday, September 14

  • Office Space: 10-11:45 a.m. TDS Center Room 108
  • Instructional Space: noon-2 p.m. TDS Center Room 108
  • Research Space: 2:15-4:15 p.m. TDS Center Room 108

The schedule for subsequent meetings is being developed and will be disseminated. We are committed to, and excited about, using an inclusive process to update the campus master plan. On October 15, 16 and 17 there will be meetings of academic programs to discuss the operations and methodologies of these programs, reviewing how the program operates today, what changes are likely in the future, and what types of facilities and spaces best suit the program. In November and December, there will be program specific meetings for all other campus areas. Please watch for future communications related to the campus master planning process.

On behalf of the Campus Master Planning Committee,
