Nighthawks Provide Air Show

From Brett Thelen, AVEO:

The nighthawks are still doing their thing over Appian Way each night – pretty cool, considering Keene is one of only three or four towns in the whole state where these birds still breed, and there appear to be only five individual birds in Keene.

It’s also a lot of fun to watch, and may continue for a few weeks more (depending on whether they’re actually nesting and whether the nest succeeds).

More details on the project are available on the Project Nighthawk page at www.aveo.org.

If you haven’t watched these birds swoop around at dusk, consider making a trip to campus one evening to do it. It’s a pretty fascinating show.
