Forrest Seymour, Staff Counselor in the Counseling Center, presented at the Association for University and College Counseling Center Outreach (AUCCCO) National Conference, June 6-8 in Chicago. His presentation titled “Sexual Violence Prevention on Campus: A Comprehensive & Collaborative Approach” focused on how campuses can develop a creative and strategic sexual violence prevention plan that can move campuses toward being an oasis of student safety and success and that can impact the larger world.

Dr. Lara Bryant, Geography, attended a two-week seminar, “Exploring the Coexistence and Challenges of Neighboring Cultures” offered by the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) from May 28 to June 8 in Spain and Morocco. The seminar explored the links between Morocco and Spain on a variety of levels: cultural and historic heritage, the differences between the “developing” and “developed” world, and the global impact of terrorism and increasing animosity between historically Muslim and Christian societies. The seminar format included a combination of academic content consisting of lectures, discussions and site visits.
