Job Shadow Day for Keene High School Students

From Betsy Street, Monadnock Center for Successful Transitions:

Thirteen students from Keene High School, North Campus, came to Keene State recently for a morning of job shadows, hosted by the Monadnock Center for Successful Transitions (MCST).

Students spent almost two hours one-on-one with a KSC employee, investigating a career of interest. Betsy Street with MCST, located in the School of Professional and Graduate Studies, and Ken Susskind, KHS North Campus School Counselor, worked closely together to organize the morning.

This is the fourth year MCST has coordinated job shadows for KHS North Campus students, and some of our KSC hosts have been with the program since the inception. We’d like to thank the following who hosted students:

  • Sodexho – Jodi Robinson;
  • Child Development Center – Deirdre McPartlin;
  • Grounds– Joe Britton;
  • Automotive – Mike Fuller;
  • Redfern - Jeremy Robarge and Chris Kelly;
  • Carpentry - Steve Schnyer;
  • Body Works - Chris Miles;
  • Campus Safety - Mike Gomez;
  • Lock and Key Services - Scott St. Pierre.

MCST, funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CFDA 93.768), has a site at KSC and is housed at Monadnock Developmental Services (MDS). MCST maintains an ever-growing master list of possible job shadows on campus. If you or your department would be interested in participating, please e-mail Betsy Street at bstreet@keene.edu.
