Owls Receive NCAA Tournament Baseball Berth

From Stuart Kaufman, Sports Information:

May 13 turned out to be a bad-news, good-news day for the Keene State baseball team. After getting eliminated from the Little East tournament earlier in the day, the Owl received word that night that they had earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III tournament.

Keene State (31-13) will be the fourth seed in the eight-team, double-elimination tournament that begins Wednesday in Mansfield, Conn. The Owls’ first-round opponent will be fifth seed and Commonwealth Conference champ Western New England College (33-11).

Keene State has played four teams in the field, posting a combined 1-6 record. KSC will be making its fourth trip to the NCAA tournament in the last six seasons. The Owls also made tournament appearances in 2007, 2008, and 2010. A good portion of the team played in the 2010 NCAA tournament when the Owls were sent to the New York region.
