Dr. Jim Chesebrough (assistant professor of music) was invited to adjudicate the Culley Concerto Competition at Dartmouth College on Saturday April 28, 2012. Supported by an endowment established by Maryly Culley (Dartmouth ‘86) and her parents Suzanne and Grant Culley, this competition offers cash prizes awarded to competing students judged to have best played their instruments in the categories of strings, woodwind and brass performance.

Rosemary Gianno, Anthropology, reviewed the book Personal Names in Asia: History, Culture and Identity, edited by Zheng Yangwen and Charles J-H Macdonald, for the journal Bijdragen tot de Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde (Journal of the Humanities and Social Sciences of Southeast Asia and Oceania), vol 168, no 1 (2012), pp. 156-160.

Tom Bassarear, Professor of Education, had a poster presentation, “A 21 Day Exploration,” at the International Symposia for Contemplative Studies in Denver from April 26-29. The conference had over 700 participants from more than 30 countries.
