United Way Campaign Kicks Off at KSC

From Susan Peery:

On Monday, October 31, Keene State’s United Way Campaign kicked off at noon in the Student Center, and by Tuesday morning, $3,700 in pledges had already been received! The campus United Way committee would like to run a short campaign, but also reach the campus goal of $30,000, so your timely support is appreciated. Last year, Keene State faculty and staff went over the goal and sent $31,372 into our own communities to help nearly 70,000 individuals.

At the Kick-off, President Giles-Gee thanked the campus community for giving strong support to Monadnock United Way. Donors who stopped by enjoyed Halloween treats in exchange for completed pledge sheets. Representatives from several United Way agencies – including Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Western NH, Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention, and Rise for Baby and Family – were on hand to tell the audience about the services they provide.

As in past years, faculty and staff who submit pledge sheets are entered in weekly raffles for items such as a cake from Sodexo, a one-month membership at the Keene State Rec Center, tickets for performances at the Redfern Arts Center, and autographed books from the Children’s Literature Festival (courtesy of Professor David White). The sooner your pledge sheet is returned, the more chances you’ll have to win these great prizes.

To learn more about the work of the United Way, please visit the Monadnock United Way’s website. Pledges in any amount, large or small, can be made by payroll deduction or as one-time gifts. If you need another copy of the pledge sheet, please call or e-mail Ann Gagnon, who will also receive your completed pledges at Mailstop 1504. Thank you for your generosity!
