At the APRA Conference in Austin, Texas, in July, Mary Feeney, Development, won the APRA Foundation Margaret Fuhry Grant. Mary and Keene State were recognized for prospect research “leadership, mentorship and volunteerism.”

From May through July, Jose Lezcano (Professor of Music) appeared as solo recitalist and collaborative artist in Barcelona, Memphis, Nashville (Middle Tennessee University), Manchester (NH), Miami, and Quito, Ecuador. He adjudicated the Tennessee Guitar Festival International Competition, and “Music in Miami” presented a complete concert of Dr. Lezcano’s chamber works and songs. He premiered his second guitar concerto, “Concierto Cubanero,” in New York City with North-South Consonance, conducted by Max Lifchitz, and in Quito, with the Orquesta Sinfonica Juvenil, conducted by Patricio Aizaga. North-South Consonance recently released a CD with Jose’s composition, “Tango Overture for String Orchestra,” entitled Crosscurents, and Trio Fuoco, a highly-regarded ensemble from Slovenia, recently released their recording of Dr. Lezcano’s Cuban Sketches.
