Opportunity for Action

For our last meeting of the Diversity Commission this semester, we have decided to use the time to do some organizational work in response to the budget crisis which affects our work in diversity/multiculturalism. The cuts to TRIO and to financial aid in particular will impact many students in low income groups who are already financially strained and may not be able to return to college.

Please join us this Friday, April 22 at noon in the Atrium Conference Room of the Student Center. Come prepared to hear updates on the problems and possible steps we can take. Bring personal letterhead, stamps, and calendars; there will be opportunities to get started and make plans in this meeting.

Please encourage your colleagues and students to attend as well, and please join us, even if you’ve never been to a diversity commission meeting before.
