Community Service Corner: Relay for Life

From Mary McEntee, Community Service Office:

Under the leadership of Keene State College student Rebecca Lazinsk, Keene State College held the second annual Relay for Life event in the Spaulding Gym on Friday, April 8 through Saturday, April 9. Three hundred participants, 33 teams and nine survivors attended the event, which started with an opening ceremony describing the American Cancer Society and introducing the student relay committee volunteers. Music and food were provided at the event, which raised over $21,600.
Relay For Life is a fun, exciting, unforgettable over-night event that raises money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. The money raised from Relay events goes towards finding a cure for all cancers, and also providing many valuable resources and services for cancer patients and others affected by the disease. KSC students joined together to create teams which raised money leading up to and on the day of the event.
