Relay for Life KSC

From Becca Lazinsk, Relay For Life KSC Event Chair 2011

Keene State College is already diligently planning and fundraising for its second ever Relay For Life KSC event.

Relay For Life is a fun, exciting, unforgettable overnight event that raises money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. The money raised from Relay events goes towards finding a cure for all cancers, and also providing many valuable resources and services for cancer patients and others affected by the disease. Participants join together to create teams, led by a captain or co-captains, which will fundraise money leading up to and on the day of the event. Planned by a group of hardworking and dedicated Planning Committee members, Relay For Life events have something for everyone: music, food, prizes, games, and plenty of memorable moments. Special ceremonies are held throughout the night to honor and remember those who have survived their fight with cancer, lost their battle to the disease, or are currently fighting. Relay For Life is an opportunity for people to come together and work as a united community to finally find a cure for a disease that has taken too much, from too many of us.

On campus, Relay is planned by a group of devoted and enthusiastic students, but we are always looking for more help. This year, our event will be April 8-9 in Spaulding Gymnasium from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. If you would like to get involved with Relay, whether through volunteering, making a donation, or contributing in some other way, your efforts would be greatly appreciated. Event Chair Becca Lazinsk can be reached at RelayForLifeKSC@gmail.com, or through Mary McEntee in the Community Service Department. We would love to have you join Relay For Life in whatever way is best for you, as we know the Keene State Community would truly benefit from your involvement. Last year, Keene State College Relay raised over $18,000.00 for the American Cancer Society.
