I Can Say What I Want

From Dottie Morris, Office of Diversity and Multiculturalism:

“I can say whatever I want”
A Facilitated Dialogue on Freedom of Speech
Facilitated by Joni Esperian, Esq., New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights

Tuesday, March 22
Noon – 1:30
Young Student Center, Atrium Conference Room (next to ATM)

Where is the line between freedom of speech and hate speech? What happens to civility and community when that line is crossed?

Come prepared to discuss your understanding of the spirit of the freedom of speech section of the first amendment:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

Ms. Esperian is an attorney and the Executive Director of Agency enforcing State and Federal antidiscrimination statutes. She conducts outreach, education, and training in business, government, education, housing, and non- profit community settings.
