Dr. Karen Stanish, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, presented a two talks on service-learning and quantitative literacy, entitled “Serve While You Learn: A Quantitative Literacy Course,” at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in New Orleans on Jan. 6. Also as part of the Joint Mathematics Meetings, Karen presented a talk entitled “Investigating Number Systems” at the Summer Program for Women in Mathematics reunion on Jan. 7.
