Blackboard updates

While we still have some summer left before classes begin we realize that many instructors will be gathering material to post in their Blackboard course. Here are a few things that we hope will help you begin the semester:

• Student rosters will be loaded into Bb by the end of the day, Monday 8/23. Student “adds” will be updated daily.
• If you need to communicate with your students prior to 8/23 you can use the Faculty Web Advisor e-mail function, which can be found off of the Keene State home page in the Academics navigation menu.
• Be sure you make your course available to your students; otherwise, they will not be able to access any content. (Directions for doing this are available at http://bit.ly/aSAQ0m.)

Our growing workshop/event schedule has already kicked off but don’t worry, we have a number of upcoming opportunities. Here is a taste of what we will be offering but for a full schedule visit the CELT calendar located at http://bit.ly/8NNLN3.

1. Tuesday 8/17 1-3 p.m., Huntress 012: Blackboard Demo. The Bb support team will give a 1 hour demonstration of the new features of Bb 9.1 followed by one-on-one question and answer session.
2. Thursday, 8/19, 10:30 a.m. – noon, Rhodes Hall S121. Blackboard Basics (half hour drop-in from 10:30-11 for basic questions). Registration is required: http://www.keene.edu/it/helpdesk/training.
3. Wednesday, 8/25 1:30-2:30 p.m., Huntress 012: Blackboard - Giving Feedback Using the Grade Center (half hour drop-in from 1-1:30 for basic questions). Registration is required: http://www.keene.edu/it/helpdesk/training.
