Help Fight Cancer: Wear Pink to the 2/21 Basketball Game

From Stuart Kaufman, Sports Information: Keene State College has joined more than 1,250 institutions and organizations participating in the 2009 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) fight against breast cancer during Pink Zone week, February 13–22.

Fans wearing pink to either the Keene State women’s or men’s basketball games, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively, against Little East rival UMass-Boston on Saturday, February 21, at Spaulding Gym, will be given free admission. In addition, both Owl and Beacon women’s players will wear pink shooting shirts, and the KSC Student Athletic Activities Committee (SAAC) will hold a 50/50 raffle with proceeds going toward the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund. The WBCA Pink Zone initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA’s nation of coaches to assist in raising breast-cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities, and beyond.
