For the first time in nine years, the Keene State College women’s cross country team is headed to the NCAA Championships.

The Owls have sent several individuals to the NCAAs over the years, but had not qualified as a team since 2006, when Keene State placed 17th overall. Keene State, currently ranked No. 18 in the latest USTFCCCA Coaches Poll, received one of the coveted at-large berths courtesy of their sixth place finish at yesterday’s NCAA Regional Race in New London, Conn..

Keene State will be bringing a bit of experience on the national stage with them - senior Samantha Goldsmith qualified as an individual in 2014.

The women will be joined by senior Hayden Patterson, who qualified as an individual, the first KSC male cross country runner to do so since Ryan Widzgowski in 2013.

The NCAA Championships will take place on November 21 at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winnecone, Wisconsin.
