Thorne-Sagendorph Art Gallery Announces Winner of People’s Choice Award

Keene State College’s Thorne-Sagendorph Art Gallery is currently displaying 90 works created by artists living within 30 miles of Keene as part of its Biennial Regional Jurors’ Choice Exhibition. The art displayed in the Jurors’ Choice Exhibit was selected by the competition’s designated juror, Kristina Durocher. Gallery visitors were asked to cast their vote for the winner of this year’s People’s Choice Commendation Award. The Thorne Gallery is proud to announce the winner is Tim Mahurin of Brattleboro, Vermont, for his painting titled “Lighthouse.” As the winner, Mr. Mahurin will receive $100 from Friends of the Thorne. A total of 170 votes were cast.
“We offer our congratulations to Tim – this honor is well-deserved. The art in this year’s exhibit is truly incredible and competition was intense. Providing a venue for gathering some of the best work in our geographic area is a real honor. We look forward to the next Jurors’ Choice Exhibit,” said Maureen Ahern, director of the Thorne-Sagendorph Art Gallery at Keene State College.
