KSC Department of Music in an Evening of "Latin American Sounds & Traditions"

The Keene State College Department of Music will present “Latin American Sounds and Traditions,” featuring the KSC Latin American Ensemble under the direction of José Lezcano with faculty mezzo-soprano, Pamela Stevens and guest artists The Alturas Duo.

The performance is in the Redfern Arts Center on Brickyard Pond’s Alumni Recital Hall, Tuesday, November 13, 7:30 p.m.

The KSC Latin American Ensemble is recognized for its popular concerts of traditional urban popular music from countries such as Cuba, Ecuador, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, and Bolivia. The world-renowned Alturas Duo, Carolos Boltes, viola and charango and Scott Hill, guitar are the only group of its kind. They formed with the idea of playing South American and classical music by bringing together the unusual combination of the viola, charango, and guitar. The Washington Post hailed their playing as “marvelous virtuosity.”

KSC faculty and staff receive one free ticket to the performance and may order tickets by calling the Redfern Arts Center’s box office at 358-2168.
