Keene State College Appoints F. Daniel Henderson as Corporate Relations Officer

New Staff Member Brings Decades of Fundraising and Business Experience to the College

Keene, NH, July 17, 2012: Keene State College today announces the appointment of Daniel Henderson as the college’s corporate relations officer. Mr. Henderson brings over 25 years of experience in the fields of law, business management and fundraising. Most recently, Mr. Henderson worked as a consultant for various area businesses. Mr. Henderson is the first person to hold this position at Keene State College. He began his work at the college on June 27.

The success of and access to higher education is critical to the quality of life for people who live in New Hampshire, and for the health of our economy,” said Mr. Henderson. “Keene State College already works closely with many businesses to help prepare a future workforce that will fill the needs of our state, region and nation. I look forward to building on the great work that Keene State has already begun.”

Mr. Henderson is a native of Virginia who has lived in the Keene area since 1987. A graduate of University of Virginia and William and Mary Law School, he has lived and worked in Germany and the Netherlands, and was General Counsel at Markem Corporation for many years until the sale of Markem to Dover a few years ago. Mr. Henderson became interested in fundraising when he initiated and led the successful revitalization of Keene’s Colonial Theatre beginning in the early 1990s. Currently, he is on the board of Arts Alive (he was its first chairman), the advisory board of Giving Monadnock, and he just completed his third year on the Monadnock United Way Allocations Committee. He is also a member of the board of directors of the New Hampshire Business Finance Authority. Mr. Henderson has been a member of the Keene Elm City Rotary since 1989 and is a past president.
