"Kids On Campus" Open for Registration
KEENE, NH, 06/15/11 - Kids on Campus, a Keene State College Continuing Education and Extended Studies summer program, has openings for your child in the program. Now in its sixth summer, your first through ninth grader has fun being part of Kids on Campus while learning in any of the more than 40 different sessions offered this summer. Babysitting training taught by Red Cross personnel, creative writing, learning Chinese, Native American crafts, puppets, music from around the world, roller coaster design, and web page design are among the topics featured. Sessions are taught by teachers from local schools, Keene State College faculty, and other experts.
Kids on Campus runs for four weeks: June 27 to July 1, July 11 to 15, July 18 to 22, and July 25 to 29. Morning classes run from 9 a.m. to noon and afternoon classes run from 1 to 4 p.m. Per week, the cost per child is $125 for a half day and $200 for a full day. Morning and afternoon care is available. The weekly cost for extended morning and afternoon care is an additional $50.
You accompany your child to the classroom and pick him or her up up from that same location. You supply snacks and drinks for break time and lunch if your child is staying a full day. KSC staff members meet all-day students after morning class, accompanying them to the lunch area before walking them to afternoon classes. All breaks are supervised.
Suggested class groupings are grades one to three, four to six, and seven to nine. However, your child’s interest in the topic is the most important factor. Class sizes are small with most limited to 12 attendees.

You can also request a brochure from Keene State College, Continuing Education (603-358-2290) or stop by the office (Elliot Center, 229 Main Street, first floor, Keene) to pick one up from the information rack outside the office.
