KSC Receives Its Second-Largest Bequest

Though she left campus when she retired over 20 years ago, Dorothea Kitlan, former director of the Curriculum Materials Library at the Mason Library and former board member for the Keene Endowment Association, never forgot Keene State College and the important work we do here. The College was surprised and honored to learn that Ms. Kitlan, who died at her home in Port Charlotte, Fla., last year, had remembered KSC in her estate plan, giving us the second-largest bequest in our history.

The gift, in excess of $900,000, will establish the Dorothea A. Kitlan Scholarship Fund for students expressing financial need. Earnings from the fund will provide critical support for deserving students and help them realize their dreams.

The Keene Endowment Association is a separate organization created to receive gifts and invest funds on behalf of Keene State College. Ms. Kitlan’s generous gift will provide significant returns for future KSC students through the established endowed scholarship. KSC is very appreciative to Ms. Kitlan.
