Residential Life Information
Unloading your Vehicle
In July you received an email which assigned to a specific building on campus. Fall Welcome staff will be positioned strategically to help guide you to the right location for your unloading to begin. Once positioned by our staff, a team of volunteers will then assist you in unloading your vehicle (from 8 a.m.
- 3 p.m.) Your items will be placed outside of your residence hall, so that your vehicle can be moved to long-term parking as soon as possible. The driver doesn’t even need to exit the vehicle during the unloading process.
Once your vehicle is unloaded, you will check into your residence hall and pick up your room key/combination. The driver of the vehicle must immediately clear the vehicle from the area to make space for the next vehicle. The driver may rejoin you after they have put the vehicle in long-term parking. Unloading and parking instructions must be observed at all times to help the move-in process remain efficient and safe for all students and their families.
Moving Items to Your Room
Please do not hesitate to ask a volunteer for help if you are unable to safely move items to your room. Our staff and volunteers want to make your day memorable, but free of injuries and/or trip to the emergency room.
If you arrive before your roommate, we recommend waiting for all roommates to arrive before serious unpacking and setup begins. This strategy has been proven to be the most effective and efficient way to set-up the room. Resident Assistants will be available on the halls to assist you with questions or concerns about your room. Please be very sure to complete your Room Condition Form in order to document the condition of the room when you move-in, which will hopefully help you to avoid being billed for damage when you check-out.
Useful information to review prior to arriving on campus:
- Check your housing assignment email to ensure you are going to the proper location.
- If your room assignment is an even number, you should arrive between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
- If your room assignment is an odd number, you should arrive between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
- A parking pass is included on the back cover of your move-in guide. Please complete all of the information requested and hang it on your rearview mirror prior to your arrival on campus
- Your parking pass is color coded. When approaching campus simply follow the signs that match the color of your parking tag to get to your residence hall
Late Arrival Requests
If you are planning to arrive later than your assigned check-in day please e-mail reslifeadmin@keene.edu immediately to ensure that your housing space is reserved for you. Please include your name, Student ID Number, planned arrival date and time and your room assignment.
