Graphic Design Seniors Display Portfolios

KEENE, N.H., 3/25/10 - More than 20 Keene State College seniors majoring in graphic design will open their portfolios and showcase their best design work on Friday, April 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Media Arts Center on the KSC campus.

Graphic design students are required to take a portfolio seminar in which they prepare a professional presentation of their work. During this class, taught by graphic design faculty member Melissa DiPalma, students complete a wide variety of design-related projects including print, web, and multimedia, featuring identity design, poster design, websites, animation projects, and editorial design.

The students who will display their graphic design work at the portfolio review include Lindy Caslin from Bennington, Vt.; Bethany Cloutier from Camas, Wash.; Rachel Dagan from Eliot, Maine; Kara Day from Rye, N.H.; Luke Dube from Mason, N.H.; Kayla Eckhoff from Wolfeboro, N.H.; Amanda Goncalves from West Hartford, Conn.; Kathleen Griffin from Windham, Maine; Rebecca Haley from Reading, Mass.; Ryan Harrison from Nashua, N.H.; Adam Hill from Keene, N.H.; Caitlyn Hockenbury from Sunapee, N.H.; Lizzie Hughes from Hillsdale, N.J.; Eric Laberge from Manchester, N.H.; Elizabeth Lefebvre from Orange, Mass.; Elisabeth Lull from Henniker, N.H.; Laura Mann from Keene, N.H.; Joshua Pulsifier from Saco, Maine; Allison Ranney from Chester, Vt.; Emily Skawinski from Stratford, Conn.; Elyse Thornton from Windham, N.H.; Takako Ueda from Dummerston, Vt.; and Erin Wheeler from Gilford, N.H.

Members of the local business community are encouraged to attend the event and review the portfolios of these graduating seniors. Students’ friends and family and other community members are also invited. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. For further information, call the Media Arts Center at 603-358-2770.

In conjunction with the portfolio review, the Art Department will sponsor an opening reception for “Emerging Art,” the Annual KSC Art Students Exhibition, on the same day, Friday, April 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Thorne- Sagendorph Art Gallery. This reception will be hosted by Friends of the Thorne and is free and open to the public.
