Keene State Marks President's Inauguration

KEENE, N.H. 1/16/09 -Keene State College will mark Barack Obama’s inauguration with “What Does the Inauguration Mean to You?”, a day of events and discussion on Tuesday, January 20, in the Lantern Room and Atrium of the Student Center. All events are free and open to the public and are sponsored by the Campus Commission for Diversity and Multiculturalism, the Office of Diversity and Multiculturalism, Common Ground, and the KSC Democrats.

Schedule of events:

  • 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Graffiti reaction boards available in the Student Center Atrium

  • 10 - 10:15 a.m. Introduction by the KSC Democrats

  • 10:15 - 11 a.m. OPEN MIC. All members of the Keene State College community are invited to share their thoughts and feelings about the historical significance of the inauguration of Barack Obama

  • 10:15 - 11:15 a.m. Reports from the Field: Calls from Keene State employees attending the inauguration events in Washington, D.C.

  • 11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Multicultural Luncheon and Inauguration Ceremony/Speech (televisions will be tuned to events throughout the day)

  • 12:30 p.m. (approximately) Celebratory Drumming by African Rhythms & World Music (www.jaycookmusic.com/african.html)

  • 12:45 p.m. Reports from the Field: Calls from Keene State employees attending the inauguration events in Washington, D.C.

  • 1 p.m. OPEN MIC: Reactions to the inauguration and speech
