Rebecca Rule to Give KSC's 2008 Mason Library Lecture

KEENE, N.H., 2/19/08 - Rebecca Rule will present Keene State College’s 2008 Mason Library Lecture, “The Power of Story,” on Wed., Mar. 5, at 4:30 p.m. in the Mabel Brown Room, Student Center. Rule is an author, newspaper columnist, and radio and television host, but she is best known for her live presentations of New Hampshire stories.

Her book The Best Revenge has been recognized as one of five Essential N.H. Books by New Hampshire Magazine and named Outstanding Work of Fiction by the N.H. Writers Project.

For the last decade, she has been working to preserve New Hampshire heritage and oral tradition by visiting small towns and telling and gathering stories at hundreds of libraries, historical societies, and other small town organizations. Last spring, she spent 40 days and 40 nights in Berlin, collecting stories of logging, the mills, and life in the Androscoggin Valley.

The lecture is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Wallace E. Mason Library and The Keene Sentinel. For more information on the lecture, call 603-358-2723. To learn more about Rebecca Rule, visit her website at www.mooseofhumor.com.
