Registration Opens for December Courses at Region I OSHA Education Center

KEENE, N.H., 11/28/07 - Region I (New England) OSHA Training Institute Education Center in Manchester, New Hampshire, is accepting registrations for four December courses. The institute is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Keene State College’s Office of Continuing Education. Courses are taught throughout the region.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry (501) is for people interested in teaching the 10- and 30-hour general industry safety and health outreach programs. Along with their registration form sent at least two weeks prior to the course start date, students must attach documentation proving they have completed an OSHA 30-hour general industry outreach or OSHA Course 511 or equivalent training and a résumé demonstrating at least five years of general industry safety experience. The December 18 to 21 course is taught in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.

Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers (503) is for private sector personnel who completed the 501 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry and are active trainers in the outreach program. It provides an update on OSHA general industry standards and OSHA policies. The course runs December 12 to 14 in Groton, Connecticut, and December 12 to 14 in Manchester, New Hampshire.

OSHA Guide to Voluntary Compliance in the Industrial Hygiene Area (521) covers industrial hygiene practices and related OSHA regulations and procedures. Permissible exposure limits, OSHA health standards, respiratory protection, engineering controls, hazard communication, OSHA sampling procedures and strategy, workplace health program elements, and other industrial hygiene topics are discussed. The course runs December 10 to 13 in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Recordkeeping Rule (7845) helps employers identify and fulfill responsibilities for posting certain records, maintaining records of illnesses and injuries, and reporting specific cases to OSHA. Running on December 14, the course is taught in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Tuition for OSHA courses is per person. Tuition for Course 7845 is $225; Course 503 is $750; Course 521 is $800; and Course 501 is $855. Group discounts for five or more students to attend one course are available, as is on-site training for groups of at least 10 or more participants.
