Courses Specifically for Families Offered at Keene State College

KEENE, N.H., 10/10/07 - Courses for families to take together for fun and learning are specific offerings through Continuing Education and Extended Studies at Keene State College.

In addition to courses for you and your family to take together to learn and have fun, Keene State offers courses meeting various educational goals. For virtual learners, there are online classes and certificate programs. Courses taught on campus help you advance in your career or keep pace with changes in the workplace. Other courses help enrich your life or earn a college degree.

Keene State’s Continuing Education courses for families include Bats in Your Backyard, Build It! Festival for Families, and Family Astronomy Night.

Bats celebrates the mammal during the Halloween season. In a classroom, participants parse bat facts from fiction before heading outside, weather permitting, for bat watching under a full moon. The Friday, October 26 course runs 6-8p.m. and costs $30/adult and $15/child. Build It! weaves mathematical concepts through games and activities emphasizing geometric challenges and spatial visualization. The Friday, October 26 course runs 7-8:30p.m. and costs $20/adult and $10/child. Family Astronomy explains the night sky through star charts and computer planetarium programs. The class is slated for Thursday, November 15, 6:30-8:30p.m. and costs $30/adult and $15/child.
