Keene State Continuing Education Offers New Online Courses for Teachers
KEENE, N.H., 01/05/07 - Keene State College Continuing Education expands its online opportunities with a new distance-learning program specifically for educators.
From Virtual Education Software, Inc., the new online program for educators featuring fully accredited classes combining CD and Internet-based learning, offers students flexibility in beginning their course whenever it is convenient. VESI offers courses at more than 70 institutions in 31 different states.
Currently, Keene State College Continuing Education offers teachers three courses focusing on reducing and managing disruptive student behavior.
Behavior Is Language: Strategies for Managing Disruptive Behavior©, a three- credit course, teaches ways to encourage positive student behavior, offering a developmental framework to decode what students are saying through the “language” of their behavior. Another three-credit course, Violence in Schools: Identification, Prevention, and Intervention Strategies©, focuses on school violence and intervention strategies.
The two-credit Understanding Aggression: Coping with Aggressive Behavior in the Classroom© analyzes causes of aggression and ways to evaluate aggression and intervene before violence occurs.
The cost to New Hampshire residents for two graduate credits is $590 or $885 for three graduate credits. The cost to non-New Hampshire residents is $640 for two graduate credits or $960 for three. A noncredit option with fewer requirements is available for half price. Each course has a $95 materials fee.
