KSC Child Development Center Open House April 13

KEENE, N.H. 4/3/06 -The Keene State College Child Development Center (CDC) was renovated this year to provide new infant and toddler classrooms, new office spaces, and other improvements. The College invites the Keene community for a celebration of these renovations on Thursday, April 13, from 3 to 6 p.m. This open house will be at the CDC, on the ground floor of Elliot Hall, just off Wyman Way. The CDC staff hope that many who attended the CDC as young children will come.

All attending will see the new infant and toddler classrooms, view documentation panels and videos, see plans for the next renovation phase this summer, and speak with staff and students about their work. Light refreshments will be served.

Located in the heart of the campus, the CDC is a model center for early childhood care and education, serving children from four months to five years. The CDC was founded in 1976, with a dedicated mission to be a best practices site for early childhood education. The program serves future teachers by providing a model early childhood center, open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., where college students are able to observe children and teachers and learn to put theory into practice.

The center serves more than 50 families with young children annually, and has become a resource for parents, other regional childcare centers, schools, and colleges by providing opportunities for collaboration, conferences, and workshops.
