Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts Update

Keene, N.H. 9/19/05 - In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Keene State College is organizing a number of relief efforts and ways for campus community members to offer help to victims of the disaster.

To date, more than $900 has been raised via the donation page at www.keene.edu. The Newman Student Organization and Habitat have raised an additional $200.

A Keene State relief team comprising students and staff will travel south over the winter break to assist in relief efforts. The Red Cross will visit KSC shortly to provide the team with disaster relief training.

“Kure for Katrina” battle of the bands at the Night Owl Café on Saturday, Sept 24

Tag Sale on Student Center Lawn on Saturday, Oct. 15

Walk-a-Thon starting at the Student Center, also on Saturday, Oct. 15

Zox Concert, Thursday, Oct. 20

Battle of the Bands, Saturday, Oct. 29 (tentative)

An information board for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts is located in the Student Center atrium and will be updated as new information becomes available.
