OSHA Education Center Offers Eight Courses in January

KEENE, N.H. 12/10/03 - The Region I (New England) OSHA Training Institute Education Center, in Manchester, N.H., offers eight safety courses in January. The Institute is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Keene State College’s Office of Continuing Education.

Unless otherwise noted, the following classes take place at the Region I OSHA Training Institute located at Manchester Airport.

Respiratory Protection (OSHA 2225, formerly course 222A) covers the requirements for the establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of a respirator program. This course is scheduled Jan. 5-8 at Keene State College. The class meets from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday. Tuition is $680.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSHA 500) trains the student to conduct 10- and 30-hour construction courses that earn participants OSHA cards. This course is offered Jan. 26-30 meeting Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Tuition is $680.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry (OSHA 501), intended for private-sector personnel from all types of industries, presents detailed information on how the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act may be implemented in the workplace. This course is scheduled for Jan. 12-16 meeting Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Tuition is $680.

Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers (OSHA 502) must be completed within four years of the date of trainer authorization; it is required by OSHA to maintain outreach instructor status. The class is offered Jan. 12-14 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 8:30 to noon on Wednesday. Tuition is $550.

Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers (OSHA 503) must be completed within four years of the date of trainer authorization; it is required by OSHA to maintain outreach instructor status. This course is scheduled for Jan. 14-16 and meets from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Tuition is $550.

Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the General Industry (OSHA 511) covers OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as general industry safety and health principles. The course meets Jan. 5-9 meeting Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Tuition is $680.

OSHA’s Revised Recordkeeping Rule (OSHA 7845, formerly course 845) is designed to assist private-sector personnel who have responsibilities under OSHA’s Revised Recordkeeping Rule 29 CFR 1904. This course is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26, from 8 a.m. to noon. Tuition is $95. An Outreach Course in OSHA’s Construction Safety and Health Standards (NCSH 310) is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Jan. 22 and 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The 10-hour program explains how to evaluate construction sites for potential hazards and the special process for eliminating those hazards. Tuition is $320.
