Spectrum Series Showcases Faculty Composers

KEENE, N.H. 1/24/03 - Treat your valentine to the sweet sounds of music composed by Keene State College faculty in a Spectrum Series recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14. The recital features recent compositions by music faculty members José Lezcano, Ted Mann, William Pfaff, Timothy Rogers, Camilo Rojas, and Craig Sylvern, and emeriti faculty Hubert Bird and William Pardus.

The music ranges from contemporary to classically inspired pieces performed by the Chamber Singers of Keene, the KSC Saxophone Quartet, guitarist Ted Mann, flutist Robin Matathias, violinist Edita Blaskova, and cellist Roman Placek.

This is the second annual recital devoted entirely to faculty compositions as part of the Department of Musics Spectrum Series, a kaleidoscope of four centuries of music performed by Keene States internationally acclaimed faculty and guest artists.

The recital will take place in the Alumni Recital Hall of the Redfern Arts Center on Brickyard Pond. Tickets are $7 for the general public and $5 for KSC students, senior citizens, and youth 17 and under. Call the box office at 603-358-2168.
