Keene State Holds Seventh Ashuelot River Clean-Up

KEENE, N.H. 9/20/02 For the past six years, students, faculty and staff members from Keene State College have participated in the annual Ashuelot River clean-up. The project has yielded an assortment of tires, bottles and cans, household items, construction materials, and even shopping carts. Again this year, Keene State invites community members to join in the effort to improve the quality of the river. The Sixth Annual Ashuelot River Clean-Up will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 28.

Anyone wishing to participate in the clean-up should meet on the riverbank that borders the KSC Spaulding Gym/Recreation Center parking lot for instructions and garbage bags. Participants should wear protective clothing and shoes and bring gloves.
