Cambodia Then and Now: Photography Exhibit

This spring, the Cohen Center and Mason Library will be hosting a photography exhibit on Cambodia by Eleanor Briggs. The exhibit will be available during library hours from March 4 until April 9, and we will host Eleanor for a special gallery talk on Friday, March 8, at 2:00pm.

About the exhibit : Over the past 30 years, Cambodia has experienced a period of recovery from the horrific years of the Khmer Rouge toward development and prosperity. During that time, Eleanor Briggs has photographed in country every year for either the International Crane Foundation or the Wildlife Conservation Society. This exhibit showcases just a few moments from her travels.

About the photographer : Eleanor Briggs lives in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire. Her love of nature has taken her to wild areas in Asia and South America as well as to the woods and wetlands close to home. Over the last three decades, Briggs’ work has been shown in museums and galleries in New England, as well as around the country. Her photographs have appeared in national magazines and in books. The government of Cambodia awarded her their Sahametrei Medal for conservation efforts and her photographs in a book on the country.

This is part of a series of events leading up to the2024 Genocide Awareness Lecture on April 3.
