MARS

Putnam Science Center - 101
Tuesday, · -

Dr. Paul Withers from Boston University will be coming to talk about Mars.

Abstract.

Life is water. Rather, life as we know it requires the presence of liquid water, which is abundant on Earth. Many lines of evidence show that liquid water was once common on the surface of Mars. In fact, liquid water may still flow on Mars today. Mars is the most promising place in the solar system for finding life beyond Earth. Here I discuss how water has been discovered many times on Mars by many different spacecraft and provide an update on NASA's ongoing searches for water on Mars.
