Student Composers

Redfern Arts Center
Friday, · -

On Friday, December 8, 2017, at 7:30pm in the Redfern Arts Center Alumni Recital Hall, the composition students of Heather Gilligan, Andrew Smith, and Christopher Swist will hold a recital showcasing their work from this semester. During their training at KSC, student composers are required to write for a variety of instruments and voice types. Each student’s compositional voice is distinct, with varied styles and intensities of dissonance and tonality, resulting in an interesting assortment of works on each student composers’ recital. Pieces are typically performed by fellow students, with occasional guest performances by members of the faculty. Student composers will be invited to talk about their music before each piece. Join us for an exciting night of new music! Regardless of your musical interest, there will be something for everyone to enjoy! This event is FREE and open to the public.

This event is part of the Music Department calendar and is open to the public.
