East African singer and songwriter Somi makes her Keene debut with her blend of jazz and R&B. Somi has been praised for her “serious and seductive vocals” ( The New York Times ), and her 2014 album The Lagos Music Salon reached number one on Billboard’s jazz chart. She has performed with a wide range of artists—including Mos Def, John Legend, and Jennifer Hudson—and is a dedicated activist and founder of the non-profit organization New Africa Live.
