KSC Concert Band presents "This Blessed Plot, This Earth, This England"
Keene, NH 3/7/2013 – The Keene State College Concert Band Concert will be held at the Redfern Arts Center on Thursday March 7th at 7:30 PM in the Main Theatre. Tickets are $5/$10. This year the “Keene is Reading” program is reading Shakespeare’s the Tempest. In keeping with the Shakespearian theme, the Concert Band is performing works about and from the homeland of William Shakespeare. The Keene State College Saxophone Ensemble will be the featured guest ensemble. Assistant conductor, Kathryne Lundstedt ’14, will conduct Gustav Holst’s First Suite in Eb.. Other selections performed on the concert include Guy Woolfenden’s Illyrian Dances, And Flights of Angles Sing Thee To Thy Rest by Thomas C. Duffy, and two relatively unknown pieces by Percy Granger, Arrival Platform Humlet and Sheep Shearing Song.
