After the Earthquake, the Constitution: How Catastrophe Helped Create Possibility in Nepal

Dr. Jayaraj Acharya is the former Nepali ambassador to the United Nations, and the advisor to a recent prime minister. After nine years of political discussions following the cessation of the Nepali civil war, the April earthquake acted as a catalyst for the recent adoption of a new constitution. He will be speaking about the transition to democracy from monarchy and political stalemate in Nepal, as the country recovers from a devastating natural disaster.
