Ensemble Recital Series: Contemporary & Student Composers
During their training at KSC, student composers are required to write for a variety of instruments and voice types. Each student’s compositional voice is distinct, with varied styles and intensities of dissonance and tonality, resulting in an interesting assortment of works on each student composers’ recital. Pieces are typically performed by fellow students, with occasional guest performances by members of the faculty. Student composers will be invited to talk about their music before each piece.
All music was once new. As a promoter of new music, our music faculty enables students to learn, understand, and embrace contemporary chamber music. Students work in small groups of duos and trios and focus on diverse contemporary repertoire, particularly the work of living composers.
Join us for an exciting night of new music! Regardless of your musical interest, there will be something for everyone to enjoy!
KSC students will need to obtain their complimentary tickets in person at the Box Office rather than ordering online.
To request accommodations for a disability, please contact the coordinator at least two weeks prior to the event.
