Fairfield County, Connecticut, Professional Educator Recruitment Fair

Roger Ludlowe Middle School, Fairfield, Connecticut
Saturday, · -

The fifteenth annual CT Fairfield County Recruitment Fair will be held on Saturday April 5th at the Roger Ludlowe Middle School, in Fairfield, Connecticut. It has been well received by all who have attended in the past. We are extending an invitation to your graduating students and alumni who might be interested in teaching in a “lighthouse school district”, located on the “gold coast” of Connecticut. Officials from many of the Fairfield County school systems will be available all day to meet with the various candidates and to conduct interviews.

This is an opportunity for interested students to enjoy a “one stop shopping approach”. Doors will open at 8 AM. The program will commence shortly thereafter following an orientation in the auditorium. Pre-registration is advisable and available on our web site. It is absolutely free for the candidates. Secondary, Special Education and Special Subject Certification areas: 8:30 - 12:00. Interviews by Invitation Only: 12:00 - 3:00.

Secondary and specialty certified candidates report first to the cafeteria at 8:00 am where they pick up materials and then attend the orientation in the adjacent auditorium. Elementary Certified Candidates (K-6) will not attend except upon an invitation from a school district. They are advised to register directly with a participating school district. All attendees will receive at that time, a recruitment folder with information on each participating district. The folder also serves to hold additional materials collected throughout the day. Displays by each school district are set up in the two gymnasiums. Candidates are advised to bring sufficient resumes (20) only. Additional documentation is received from the candidates through the web applicant tracking software of the respective districts. Candidates are advised to periodically check the web site (www.ces.k12.ct.us/Recruitmentfair) for information and links to web sites of participating school districts where they list their latest staffing needs.

The New York New Haven Railroad stops in Fairfield each hour. The school is only a quarter of a mile walk north from the station. Travel time is 25 minutes by train from New Haven (Connecticut Turnpike: US 95: exit 22); one hour and 10 minutes from NYC (Connecticut Turnpike; US 95: exit 21). There is ample parking in front of the school, in the parking lot of the adjacent high school, at a second middle school just 5 minutes away and on the north side of the train station, just south of Roger Ludlowe Middle School; a 7 walk.
