Film Premiere: The Life of Roman Halla

Mason 240
Thursday, · -

Join Jenny O'Brienhalla (KSC Class of 2024), who is majoring in Secondary Education and Holocaust and Genocide Studies, for the premiere of her new documentary film on campus!

Jenny's work tells the story of a family of Jewish descent and their escape from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia. Their journey of survival is told through the perspective of the youngest family member, Roman Halla. Roman later returned to his home only to fight for his freedom under communist rule. Ultimately he came to the United States where he served his new country in the military and as a CIA Officer for over 50 years. This story is retold more than 70 years later by Roman himself in a series of video interviews conducted by his granddaughter. Light snacks will be provided!

This event is part of the Cohen Center calendar.
