Native Americans of New England: History, Colonial Legacies, and Survival

Alumni Center - Norma Walker Hall
Thursday, · -

Join Christoph Strobel for an introductory history of the Native Americans of New England. He’ll explore the Indigenous past by examining several milestones, themes and important topics through case studies, historic sketches, biographies and by addressing popular myths and misperceptions. The presentation will explore the impact that colonization, dispossession and racism had on the lives of Native Americans, yet it will also emphasize resistance, adaptation, and survival under often harsh and unfavorable circumstances.
