Your Sex Positive Campus: Inclusive practices for safer learning environments
In this training educators, faculty, staff, and any campus-supporting adult will be welcome to engage in learning key strategies and skills for creating an overall campus environment that doesn’t shirk away from essential sex, sexuality, and consent topics such as: how to correctly use all gender pronouns, how to talk about sex in a way that is open-yet-professional, how to lean into sex-positivity while still maintaining boundaries, how to lead by example in regard to everyday consent, and how to best support students who are LGBTQQ+, engaging in consensual sex work, and/or are sexually active in a myriad of ways.
Participants will learn about the wider context of sex-negativity that influences campus culture and our own inherent biases around sex and sexuality and will brainstorm unique, specific ways to combat these harmful narratives with new practices and immediate steps to take in their own classrooms and campuses.
Presented by: Yana Tallon-Hicks, couples & relationships therapist and consent, sex & sexuality writer and educator based in Western Massachusetts.
This workshop is for KSC staff/faculty only!
